Forum Moderator
The Forum Moderator module allows you to automate post evaluation and management in your Discord forum channels. By creating custom scripts, you can define specific criteria for new posts and set automated actions to maintain order and engagement.
Overview
Forum Moderator operates on a vertical logic flow:- WHEN: A new post is created in a forum channel.
- IF (Filters): The post matches specific criteria (e.g., contains keywords, has an attachment).
- THEN (Actions): MurFFy executes predefined actions (e.g., tagging, locking, or sending a message).
Global Configuration
Before creating your first automation script, ensure the module is set up correctly in the global settings.Master Control
Enable or disable the entire Forum Moderator module globally using the master switch. This allows you to pause all automations instantly if needed.Global Settings (Audit Logs)
Configure Audit Logging to track every automated action taken by MurFFy. It is highly recommended to select a dedicated log channel to monitor the bot’s activity.
Automation Scripts
Automation Scripts are the core of the module. Each script represents a specific rule set for your forum channels.Script Logic
Each script follows a logical progression:- Scope: Restrict the script to specific forum channels or apply it to the entire server.
- Filter Logic: Choose between
AND(all filters must match) orOR(at least one filter matches).
Filters (Conditions)
Filters define the criteria for your automation. You can add multiple filters to fine-tune when an automation should trigger.
Automated Actions
Define what happens when a post matches your criteria. You can stack multiple actions within a single script.
Rich Embeds
TheSEND_EMBED and SEND_EMBED_IN_CHANNEL actions allow for highly customizable messages. All text fields support dynamic placeholders.
Dynamic Variables (Placeholders)
Use these variables to make your automated messages and embeds dynamic. They are automatically replaced with real data when the action is executed.Quick Guide
- Keep it Simple: Start with simple rules (e.g., adding a “New” tag to all posts) before moving to complex Regex filters.
- Log Everything: During setup, use the
Send Logaction to verify that your filters are working as expected without interfering with users. - Order Matters: Rules are evaluated in the order they appear. You can reorder scripts to change the execution priority.
