Forms let you define a set of questions, publish an invitation in a Discord channel, and send every completed response to a separate staff channel. They work well for recruitment, roleplay character sheets, reports, applications, and private feedback.

Create a form

  1. Open Dashboard → Forms and select New form.
  2. Enter the public form name. Discord uses it as both the modal title and the invitation button label, so it can contain up to 45 characters.
  3. Optionally change the internal name used only in the dashboard. It follows the public name automatically until you edit it manually.
  4. Choose the channel where the invitation will be published and the staff channel that will receive responses.
  5. Add up to five questions or informational blocks, then configure the invitation message.
  6. Select Publish.
Publishing again refreshes the existing Discord message. If the original message was deleted, MurFFy creates a replacement. Changing the invitation channel moves the form to the new channel.

Available modal components

Discord modals allow at most five top-level components. Informational text counts toward this limit because it is also a native modal component.

Invitation customization

The invitation can include message content, an embed title and description, an accent color, a button color, and an emoji. The public form name always remains the button label. You can also customize the private confirmation shown to a member after a successful submission. Premium servers can customize or remove the invitation embed footer. Forms on servers without Premium always display Made with murffy.xyz in the footer. Enable Discord Components V2 to render the invitation with native Text Display and Container components instead of message content and a classic embed. The setting can be changed at any time. Because Discord does not allow the Components V2 flag to be removed from an existing message, refreshing a form after changing modes replaces its published invitation with a new message.

Responses and uploaded files

MurFFy sends the member identity, submission time, and every answer to the selected staff channel. Long answers are included in an attached text transcript so they are never cut off by Discord embed limits. Files uploaded in the modal are copied into the staff channel in follow-up messages. Mentions included in answers do not ping users or roles. The maximum size of each uploaded file is determined by the member’s Discord upload limit in the channel where they opened the form.

Remove a published form

Use Unpublish to remove the invitation message while keeping the editable form in the dashboard. Deleting the form removes both its saved configuration and its published invitation.
