Messages and Message Kits

The Messages page lets server managers change built-in MurFFy responses without changing how commands and buttons work. Open your server in the dashboard and select Messages from Automation & content.

Editing a message

  1. Select a message from the catalog.
  2. Use Visual to edit content, embeds and buttons, or Raw to edit the complete JSON template.
  3. Open Variables to copy values available to that specific message.
  4. Check the Discord preview and select Save.
The preview and the bot use the same server-side renderer and validation rules. The catalog includes rich bot payloads such as embeds and buttons, plus the existing command and component text catalog.

Variables

Variables use the ${variableName} format. Available variables depend on the selected message. Unknown variables are rejected when the message is saved. When Remove empty lines is enabled, lines that become empty after optional variables are rendered are removed automatically.

Buttons

You can edit button labels, styles and emojis. Link buttons can also have their destination changed or be added to a message. Interactive button actions are locked. Their internal Discord IDs cannot be edited, and required action buttons cannot be removed. This prevents a visual customization from breaking ticket, moderation or confirmation flows.

Message Kits

A Message Kit is a reusable collection of message templates. A server can have one installed kit and additional local overrides. The resolution order is:
  1. Local server override
  2. Installed Message Kit
  3. Built-in English default
MurFFy provides an official Polish kit. English remains the built-in fallback.

Creating and publishing

Create an empty kit or fork a published kit, edit its draft from the Messages catalog, and select Publish. Every published version is immutable. Share the generated code with another server manager. Installations are pinned to a specific published version, so later edits by the author cannot silently change installed messages.

Reset and uninstall

  • Reset removes one local override.
  • Reset local changes removes all local overrides but keeps the installed kit.
  • Uninstall kit returns the server to English defaults while preserving local overrides.
Installing a kit does not grant its author control over your server. Review message text, images and links before installing a community-created kit.
